Xue-Jun Song, MD, PhD, Professor, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen. Dr. Song received his PhD in Neurobiology from Chinese Academy of Sciences and had his postdoctoral training at Yale University. He once served as a faculty in the University of Texas Medical Center, Parker University, and Peking University Health Science Center more than two decades before joined SUSTech. Dr. Song has been involving in basic medical research and clinical practice in the fields of neuroscience, pain medicine and anesthesiology and a leading scientist in neuropathic and cancer pain, consciousness, and anesthesiology. He was recognized by some prestigious national and international scientific awards including AAPM Robert Adison MD Award, The Scott Haldeman Award, The Louis Sportelli NCMIC Award, NSFC Outstanding Young Scientist Award, etc. Dr. Song serves on the IASP/WHO committee of Pain Definition Revision and GAWG, and on several editorial board including PAIN, Pain Med, J Physiol and Biochem, and Chin J Pain Med.
